What we are saying is that good music is Universally appreciated, regardless of where it comes from. There is much good music coming out of USA, and some trash, too. Same for Ex-Yu, lots of great stuff and some trash. We all know one from the other. What I learned recently is that many of you know a lot of USA's good artists, and you are picking out a lot of my favorites. And also have favorites from Serbia. For a newer artist I like Jelena Tomasevic, for traditional, I enjoy B. Krstic and Bistrik Orchestra. Just starting to enjoy Ana Popovic, thanks to your recommendation. From Bosnia I think Elvira rules, and Jasna Gospic is easy to listen to. From Adriatic region New Fossils & Magazine my favorite groups. Radojka, Doris, Mary, Maya R. and Jelena get a lot of plays around my place. Actually about 60% of my time is spent with Ex-Yu, as it is full of Verve and expression, and a unique cultural jewel. The rest of the time is devoted to blues, jazz and pop in that order. Not big on lots of the pop star celebreties who are big on show and short on quality and talent. Both our regions have their share. Just saw the 2010 New Year's party on Times Square, NYC. The entertainment was horrible. Guess I'm getting too old.
